Charles Nordeen initially drew inspiration from the likes of filmmakers Terrence Malick and P.T. Anderson, apprenticed under the legendary director and photographer Albert Watson, and was a founding partner of a full-service design, VFX and live action studio in his early days. He has also created television shows, music videos and indie films, and was recognized with a place in the 2014 SHOOT New Directors Showcase.
Nordeen’s versatile background fuels a comprehensive storytelling approach from concept to delivery. He has more recently honed this skill with his passion for food to create a niche in the industry - creating emotional, lifestyle-driven content as a landscape to showcase striking imagery.
Nordeen has shot for an array of food brands (including Nido, Coffee-Mate, P&G, Marriott and SunLife Organics) and celebrities (including Taylor Swift, Tyreke Evans and Josh Gad).
At the center of each project is the personal story that drives Nordeen’s creative spirit. And it has been those stories that have inspired him to create some of his most meaningful work, including PSA’s for the youth drinking water initiative WAT-AAH and Michelle Obama’s ‘Let’s Move’ initiative, giving him the opportunity to present his work personally to the former first lady.
